We count on our volunteers to assist us in providing outstanding visitor experiences throughout our heritage sites, and we’re constantly seeking additional members to join our team.

There are plenty of opportunities available to get involved; from assisting curatorial staff to working with the public and helping with the upkeep of our heritage sites.

You just need buckets of enthusiasm, a friendly can-do attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.

Volunteer at Newstead Abbey

Newstead Abbey is a beautiful historic house set in a glorious landscape of gardens and parkland within the heart of Nottinghamshire, where volunteering opportunities include gardening, helping in the family activity centre and assisting with front-of-house operations.

Join us as a volunteer at Nottingham Castle

Immerse yourself in the medieval wonders of Nottingham Castle, where a plethora of galleries and exhibitions await to captivate visitors of all ages, sharing the rich history of Nottingham.

Nestled at the base of Castle Rock lies Brewhouse Yard, a hidden gem of Nottingham and containing a row of 17th Century cottages.

Volunteer opportunities abound at both locations, offering roles such as gardening, assisting with family-friendly events, and supporting front-of-house operations.

Volunteer at Wollaton Hall & Deer Park

Wollaton Hall is a stunning Grade I listed 16th-century Elizabethan mansion set in 500 acres of natural parkland. Volunteering opportunities range from the Walled Garden restoration project to supporting family storytelling activities and our Park Rangers.
