Sketching – Architecture of Wollaton Hall


Use techniques to record observations. Increase proficiency in handling different materials. Analyse and evaluate work and develop historical knowledge of art and architecture, periods and styles.

The building is a mix of Elizabethan Renaissance with modernised Georgian. Using paper and materials, explore the interior and exterior. Examine paintings by Jan Siebrechts and identify structural and stylistic changes. Pore over the architectural plans of Robert Smythson and Jeffry Wyatville and the influence each had on Wollaton Hall.

Duration: 1.5 hours | 10.30am–12pm or 1pm–2.30pm
