Classification: Group animals according to observable features. Identify and group animals with and without skeletons.
Why do we need skeletons? Do all creatures have skeletons? We investigate how skeletons support our bodies and protect our vital organs, learning fascinating facts about the shapes and properties of these important bones. We compare them with skeletons from other animal specimens in our handling collection and take the 'bone detectives' challenge, identifying bones from different species in the Galleries.
