Learning and education

Across the Nottingham Heritage sites we offer a wide variety of curriculum based facilitated sessions for school pupils of all ages. Please read the dedicated pages for each of our museum sites to search for specific subjects and curriculum links. We welcome enquiries for Inset training and one off school projects.

Please contact the Schools Programmes team on 0115 8761420 or email schools.programmes@nottinghamcity.gov.uk and we will be happy to help you with your enquiry,

Teacher-led sessions

Many curriculum and Key Stage topics fall under our Facilitated workshops resource. However, if there is a specific topic you wish to teach your class and need access to one of our sites, then do get in touch and we can facilitate this.

To book, call 0115 876 1420 or email schools.programmes@nottinghamcity.gov.uk

NOTE: Some of our sites can only accommodate 1-2 classes at a time, so please pre-book.

Admission to Wollaton Hall is free but there is a £30 fee for coach parking payable in advance. If a lunch space is required there will be a £25 charge for the use and there is limited availability so a space cannot be guaranteed.

Self guided visits to Newstead Abbey are not an option however a guided tour of the house can be booked in advance at a cost of £5 per pupil.

Please note: the historic nature of our museums makes some areas less accessible to wheelchair users, please inform us at the time of booking if your group includes wheelchair users. We will advise you on any access issues and offer alternative suggestions where possible.
